October Meeting Topic: Adult Day Services

Please join Senior Moments for our next meeting October 13, 2010, 9:00 AM. Our guest speaker will be Susan Setfarhad,  Communications Director for Adult Day Services of Alameda County (ADSAC).  Susan will discuss community daytime programs for frail and homebound seniors.

While SM advocates for seniors we also provide assistance to caregivers. Caregivers need vital support that will allow them to continue to effectively provide needed assistance to their loved ones. ADSAC furnishes this needed support to caregivers, frail elders and adults with disabilities.

Every weekday hundreds of seniors gather at 15 adult day centers in Alameda County to enjoy a day filled with stimulating activities, friendship, a hot lunch, exercise, and, at some centers, nursing care and physical or occupational therapy. Additionally, ADSAC is a hub of information for caregivers providing them with an array of free personalized referrals. If you are a senior, caregiver or know someone who is, you will find this meeting a valuable link to providing care for a frail or disabled senior. Join us next week at: Divine Home Care – 241 Joaquin Ave, San Leandro, CA 94577

Thanks so much Kriss! You are certainly an example of what it means to honor our parents. Jerry and I still talk about the way you took care of your mother in the most exemplary way imaginable. Your mom was blessed when she brought you into this world – and so is anyone who knows you.;-)
